I Guess Only the Nuclear Apocalypse in Japan Will Be Televised, Intermittently and At Night

The Pending Nuclear Apocalypse in the U.S. will be Censored Because We Wouldn't Want to Alarm Anyone

Panic Kills, you know.

In all actuality, the situation at Fort Calhoon does not yet seem to be out-of-control.

The plant is running on backup generators and hopefully those will be sustained without incident until full electricity is restored.

There are a lot of "ifs" and "buts" so all we can do is wait for information.

The situation this morning at Fukushima was another matter. I know what I saw this morning was not typical, even for that mega-disaster and I'm confident there were flames.

Past massive releases have resulted in radiation spikes here in the US. as evident by radnet data.

I plan on watching the location of the jet stream and carefully tracking radnet data. I know that radnet is of limited use. The data for the very worst days of radiation were simply censored. However, I do find radnet helpful for discerning trends in fallout.

I have friends who feel that I am over-reacting. I have friends who simply do not want to hear what I have to say.

However, I will never forget the feeling I experienced after hearing from Gunderson that people in Seattle breathed in between 5-10 hot particles a day in April.

My kids probably did as well.

I wanted to shelter them more in late March and April. However, I bowed to social pressure and allowed my son to run track outside during that time frame.

I doubted my instincts and was compelled by the seemingly scientific expertise of government authorities who insisted that there was "no danger."

I know now that those people lied or were themselves deceived.

I now no longer care if friends feel I've gone off the deep end when keeping my kids indoors after major events have occurred at Fukushima.

It takes the radiation 2-3 days to get to the US west coast. This time I'm not going to doubt my instincts.
