Potrblog's March 17 Sample is 17X Background
Potrblog writes: "Given the unusual nature of the sample, we once again strongly suspect a recent increase in radioactive releases at Fukushima."
Majia here: This increase is consistent with the data reported by Fukushima Diary (my previous post) and is not surprising given recent earthquake activities.
However, I do find it alarming. Over one year of significant releases.
I wish we knew how much radiation has actually been released and whether the amount exceeds the fallout from atmospheric nuclear testing in the 1950s and early 1960s.
Steveo did some calculations for uranium that are interesting.

plutonium) from the explosions at Fukushima using real EPA DATA.
The smallest amount of plutonium aerosolized would be around 500 pounds, but if it was the enriched MOX fuel in reactor 3 that blew up, then it could be 10,000 lbs
hmmmm
maybe we should just stop playing with fire"
