Connect the Dots, Or Not

Hydrogen levels slowly rising in unit 1

7.3 Earthquake hits northeast Japan followed by many small aftershocks

Strange sightings on the Fukushima webcam - including emissions seemingly coming from area of unit 1 - followed by a video clip dated 12/9 depicting what could be smoke here

Citizen radiation monitoring data on US west coast shows elevated levels (EPA gamma levels for some US west coast cities up as well). See comment thread here

Connect the dots, or not? Unfortunately, there is no way of proving empirically the truth of the matter.

One way or another, however, Fukushima looks odd right now....
