Why is the Trump administration reversing an Obama Admin. ban on a known "nerve-agent" pesticide? Does the administration want to damage developing children's brains? I thought Trump loved children. Or perhaps he loves only his own....
Mohan, G. (2017, March 30). Trump administration reverses course on nerve-agent pesticide. The Los Angeles Times, http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-pesticide-epa-201703230-story.htmlSee my related blog posts:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday reversed an Obama administration recommendation to ban a pesticide linked to nervous system damage in children. Newly installed EPA administrator Scott Pruitt signed an order that would allow farmers to continue using chlorpyrifos, which is sprayed on more than a dozen crops, including tree nuts, soybeans, corn, wheat, apples and citrus.
The Obama administration had announced in 2015 that the agency would adopt a “zero tolerance” policy for residue of the chemical on food, a move that effectively would have ended its use.

Organophosphates irreversibly bind to tissue and enzymes in the body. Sarin the worst. Fatal in small amounts. Malathione has probably contributed to the rise in parkinsonianism and alzeimers in this day and age. Malathione upsets the balance of dopamine and acerylcholine in the brain. These agents also affect neuromuscular junctions. Organophosphates maybe responsible for illnessee like fibromyalgia.
ReplyDeleteMalathione and chlorpyrifos are mothe organophosphates used as pesticides and in scabies shampoos on humans. They are probably killing a lot of bees too.
